World Airline Awards 2008 (Qantas & Virgin Blue)

The results from the Skytrax World Airline Awards are in and both Qantas Airlines and Virgin Blue have made an honourable presence in the top rankings alongside some of the world’s respected airlines… reinforcing what we Aussies already know – that our airlines are among the world’s best!

The yearly awards are compiled from 15 million eligible survey interviews conducted during an 11-month period.

Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, said, “Needless to say we’re thrilled, while today we consider ourselves a New World Carrier in a class of our own, nothing has changed about our promise to ‘keep the air fair’, or our continuing commitment to provide genuine value and affordable air travel.”

The Executive General Manager of Qantas, Mr John Borghetti, said Qantas, which ranked number three in Skytrax list, had been listed in the world’s top five airlines for six consecutive years in the prestigious survey – one of only two airlines to achieve this.
