		<description>I totally agree with you. This kind of decision, such as continuation of a flight after an IFSD, is dictated only by commercial rather than sound safety reasons and airmanship ! And having to conduct an ETOPS flight even make things worse.
I would however, in order to debrief that instructor, ask one simple question: should the other engine fail in the ETOPS segment, would you really be comfortable flying for 180 min (or more) on the remaining engine that had already failed once earlier ? 
I doubt answer would be Yes !</description>

		<description>You&#039;ll get a lot of arguments from older types that having adopted to the reliability of modern engines. I&#039;ve listened to your podcast and Eric Moody said that he had 25 failures in his career. Anybody starting out now would be lucky to have one. You&#039;ll also find the Boeing manuals (not sure about Airbus) and checklist contradicting the engine manufacturers recommendations. Good post.</description>
